[Sarah + Nick]

InterContinental Milwaukee

Sarah and Nick met at a birthday party while Sarah was home from La Crosse. The InterContinental provided the modern and elegant atmosphere they wanted for their big day.  This September wedding was the type of day newlyweds dream about. There's really nothing like a fall day by Milwaukee's riverfront.

Biggest challenge from planning your wedding?

I would say the unknown of whether all of the planning would actually come together. The entire time you are planning you have this vision of what you want, and there's always this thought in the back of your mind of whether it will really all come to fruition or not.

What was your favorite song from the dancing portion?

This is such a hard question! The entire night of dancing was my favorite- Sound By Design did such a fantastic job keeping everyone on the dance floor all night! But if we had to choose, we would say the very first song- I Gotta Feeling, only because we feel like it really got everyone on the dance floor and in the mood to dance all night!

Favorite wedding day memory?

Our first dance. It was in this moment that it hit both of us that we were married. It felt like time had stopped and we were the only two in the room.

Do you have any wedding planning advice for other couples?

Take moments throughout the journey of planning to enjoy it. This happens once in your life and it will be over before you know it. It's so important to stay grounded and to remember that on your wedding day, the planning and stress will all pay off. The day is all about the love you have for one another, not the little details. Nobody remembers the cake, the flowers, or the décor. They remember the moments and the time shared celebrating your love and new chapter in life.

We also recommend finding moments throughout the wedding day where you can have time for just the two of you. You are pulled in so many directions on your wedding day, it's nice to have those moments with each other.
